Microsoft to test ads on Zune Social +
According to this article at the Seattle PI, Microsoft will be testing the integration of ads in Zune Social, the social networking portion of the entire Zune experience. Here’s a snippet:
The prototype involved a Zune Social page for the rapper Bun B, connected to the CMJ college music festival, with related advertising for Doritos. Under the pilot program, Zune users who befriend Bun B and other sponsored artists on Zune Social will get access to related content, such as special video segments and music playlists.
I’m sure it’s safe to say that ads on the Zune itself are the next logical step.
