Possible new Zune feature might allow celebrity playlist monitoring +
Over at Listening Post there’s talk about a possible new Zune feature that will allow all the stalkers out there a little deeper peek into their favorite celeb’s listening habits:
At a cocktail party during the CMJ music festival, a Microsoft representative hinted that the feature could be used to allow fans to monitor their favorite artists’ and celebrities’ listening habits. The major online music stores have offered celebrity playlists for years, but this would take things a step further by allowing fans to see what they’re actually listening to, instead of what they say they’re into (assuming they don’t just enlist someone in their entourage to play only the most cred-laden tracks on the Zune).
There’s also mention that you’ll need an invite to a celeb’s playlist so that might trim down on the nutcases some.
But just like Coolfer says, this means celebrities will have to use a Zune. Maybe they’ll all jump on the bandwagon what with all the cheap Zune 30’s that are hitting lately.
